Sublimation

Sublimation

Sublimation in ceramics is a labelling method where an ink from a printout is transferred directly to a surface of an especially prepared mug. An image is printed on a special paper and then transferred to a product with a transfer press. We can label only outer part of a mug with this method (not handle and area around it). Maximum printout size is 210x90 mm. Project is prepared with the CMYK palette and resolution 300 dpi.
When labelling gadgets with the sublimation method we make use of vector files or high quality bitmaps (resolution not less than 300 dpi) while keeping the original labelling size. Digital printers use the CMYK colour model so PANTONE, HKS, RGB and other colour systems are automatically changed into the CMYK palette. It may result in slight differences in colours which we are not able to control.
Products marked with sublimation method, we recommend hand wash.
Sublimation advantages:

  • Full colour printouts - possibility to create multi colour printouts with clear, intensive colours and photo quality prints
  • Price - sublimation is an affordable low volume technique
  • Time - realisation of orders is quick and costs of prepress is low
